Which English clubs are still competingin the Champions League
Manchester City and Arsenal are the sole representatives from England in the Champions League. Unfortunately, Newcastle and Manchester United were eliminated during the group stages, finishing in last place. As a result, they missed out on securing a spot in the Europa League, which is awarded to teams that come third in their groups. On the other hand, Liverpool, West Ham, and Brighton are still in the Europa League and will proceed to the next round of the knockout stages after winning their respective groups. Aston Villa, on the other hand, has advanced to the round of 16 in the Europa Conference League.
Moving on to the upcoming matches,
Manchester City will be the first English club to play on Tuesday, 13th February, as they travel to Denmark to face Copenhagen.
Arsenal, on the other hand, will play a week later in Porto on Wednesday, 21st February, which will mark the final matchday of the round of 16 first legs.
As for the other teams in the Champions League last 16
, Real Madrid, led by Jude Bellingham, and Bayern Munich, captained by Harry Kane, have also advanced. Both teams are considered strong contenders to win the competition.
Real Madrid will kick off the knockout rounds against RB Leipzig, while Bayern Munich will play away against Lazio a day later.
PSG, with Kylian Mbappe as their star player, will face Real Sociedad, with the first leg taking place in Paris.
In the following week, PSV will go head-to-head with Dortmund on Tuesday night, while Inter Milan will face Atlético Madrid.
