The Kennedys have given their endorsement to Biden instead of their relative RFK Jr

1. Over a dozen individuals from America's renowned political family have given their endorsement to President Joe Biden instead of their family member Robert F Kennedy Jr.

On Thursday, Mr. Biden was accompanied by individuals from the Kennedy family, who played a significant role in shaping the contemporary Democratic Party, during his visit to Pennsylvania.

1. The approval highlights the absence of backing for Mr. Kennedy Jr.'s solo campaign for the presidency among his relatives.

After considering a potential bid for the Democratic nomination, he initiated his campaign.

In Philadelphia, Kerry Kennedy introduced Mr. Biden, the younger sister of Mr. Kennedy Jr.

Ms. Kennedy, in her statement, refrained from explicitly referring to her brother. However, she did acknowledge that there were only two contenders who had a realistic shot at securing the presidency.

She drew a parallel between Mr. Biden and her father, highlighting the president's endorsement of unions, Ukraine, and initiatives to enhance US infrastructure and combat crime. She labeled Mr. Trump as "the most anti-democratic president in American history" and condemned his dissemination of "perilous conspiracy theories" that would have deeply troubled her father.

1. She stated our strong belief that the optimal path for America's future is to give Joe Biden and Kamala Harris another four years in office.

1. It is anticipated that ex-President Donald Trump will be the Republican candidate facing Democrat Mr. Biden in the upcoming November election.

Several family members have expressed their opposition to Mr. Kennedy Jr's campaign since its inception, and individuals from this family, who have strong ancestral ties to Ireland, paid a visit to Mr. Biden at the White House on St. Patrick's Day.

1. In Philadelphia, numerous relatives are going door-to-door or phoning individuals in support of the Biden campaign. One of those backing Mr. Biden is Joe Kennedy III, a previous congressman who currently acts as the Biden administration's special envoy to Northern Ireland for economic matters.

The Kennedys' influence may have waned in recent years, but their impact on US politics remains significant. Mr. Kennedy Jr, with a family history that includes a president and senator as uncles, faced tragedy when his father was assassinated during his Democratic presidential nomination bid in 1968.

Prior to leading the anti-vaccine group Children's Health Defense, Mr. Kennedy Jr had a successful career as an environmental lawyer. Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the organization gained prominence and increased donations.

In a social media post, Mr. Kennedy Jr expressed his approval of some family members endorsing President Biden, highlighting their active involvement in politics as a family tradition. Despite differing opinions, he emphasized their unity through love.

Mr. Kennedy Jr's presidential campaign involves the support of various family members, with his daughter-in-law, Amaryllis Fox Kennedy, managing the campaign. He aims to heal America by addressing issues such as the economy, chronic diseases, the middle class, the environment, and the country's global reputation as a peaceful nation.

Recent polls suggest that Mr. Kennedy Jr is a popular third-party candidate, potentially impacting the election results in various states. However, the extent of his influence on either Mr. Biden or Mr. Trump remains uncertain.

His primary obstacle in the election will be the task of having his name included on the ballot. The campaign has confirmed that it has fulfilled the necessary criteria to be eligible for the ballot in nine states, and is actively working towards meeting the requirements in the remaining states.

On Thursday, the campaign announced that it had successfully met the criteria in Michigan after Mr. Kennedy Jr. was nominated by the Natural Law Party - a minor party whose presidential candidate received less than 3,000 votes in the state in 2020.

In most states, qualifying as an independent candidate involves gathering thousands of signatures, a process that can be quite costly, with experts estimating it could amount to millions of dollars. Recently, Mr. Kennedy Jr.'s vice presidential running mate, Nicole Shanahan, contributed $2 million to the campaign, as reported in an election filing.

The Democratic Party has initiated a legal challenge, contending that a political action committee supporting the Kennedy campaign is not permitted to assist in collecting the required signatures.

Furthermore, Democrats have sought to draw connections between Mr. Kennedy Jr. and Mr. Trump, highlighting the fact that major Trump donor Timothy Mellon is the primary contributor to a political action committee backing the Kennedy campaign.

In contrast, Mr. Trump has expressed his support for Mr. Kennedy Jr., stating on Truth Social, "He is Crooked Joe Biden's Political Opponent, not mine. I love that he is running!"

However, some Trump supporters have expressed concerns about Mr. Kennedy Jr. potentially posing a threat, and have underscored his stances on environmental and other issues in an effort to portray him as an extreme leftist.
